ONE AYAT A DAY

Surah Al-Anbiya' — The Prophets

Surah 21 · 112 ayahs · Meccan

Ayah 1

Iqtaraba lin-nāsi ḥisābuhum wa hum fī gaflatim mu‘riḍūn(a).

[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.

Ayah 2

Mā ya'tīhim min żikrim mir rabbihim muḥdaṡin illastama‘ūhu wa hum yal‘abūn(a).

No mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play

Ayah 3

Lāhiyatan qulūbuhum, wa asarrun-najwal-lażīna ẓalamū, hal hāżā illā basyarum miṡlukum, afa ta'tūnas-siḥra wa antum tubṣirūn(a).

With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"

Ayah 4

Qāla rabbī ya‘lamul-qaula fis-samā'i wal-arḍ(i), wa huwas-samī‘ul-‘alīm(u).

He [the Prophet (ﷺ)] said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing."

Ayah 5

Bal qālū aḍgāṡu aḥlāmim baliftarāhu bal huwa syā‘ir(un), falya'tinā bi'āyatin kamā ursilal-awwalūn(a).

But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]."

Ayah 6

Mā āmanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknāhā, afahum yu'minūn(a).

Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe?

Ayah 7

Wa mā arsalnā qablaka illā rijālan nūḥī ilaihim fas'alū ahlaż-żikri in kuntum lā ta‘lamūn(a).

And We sent not before you, [O Muḥammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.

Ayah 8

And We did not make them [i.e., the prophets] forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth].

Ayah 9

Ṡumma ṣadaqnāhumul-wa‘da fa anjaināhum wa man nasyā'u wa ahlaknal-musrifīn(a).

Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors.

Ayah 10

Laqad anzalnā ilaikum kitāban fīhi żikrukum, afalā ta‘qilūn(a).

We have certainly sent down to you a Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] in which is your mention. Then will you not reason?

Ayah 11

Wa kam qaṣamnā min qaryatin kānat ẓālimataw wa ansya'nā ba‘dahā qauman ākharīn(a).

And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered and produced after it another people.

Ayah 12

Falammā aḥassū ba'sanā iżā hum minhā yarkuḍūn(a).

And when they [i.e., its inhabitants] perceived Our punishment, at once they fled from it.

Ayah 13

Lā tarkuḍū warji‘ū ilā mā utriftum fīhi wa masākinikum la‘allakum tus'alūn(a).

[Some angels said], "Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes - perhaps you will be questioned."

Ayah 14

Qālū yā wailanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn(a).

They said, "O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."

Ayah 15

Famā zālat tilka da‘wāhum ḥattā ja‘alnāhum ḥaṣīdan khāmidīn(a).

And that declaration of theirs did not cease until We made them [as] a harvest [mowed down], extinguished [like a fire].

Ayah 16

Wa mā khalaqnas-samā'a wal-arḍa wa mā bainahumā lā‘ibīn(a).

And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.

Ayah 17

Lau aradnā an nattakhiża lahwal lattakhażnāhum mil ladunnā, in kunnā fā‘ilīn(a).

Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so.

Ayah 18

Bal naqżifu bil-ḥaqqi ‘alal-bāṭili fa yadmaguhū fa iżā huwa zāhiq(un), wa lakumul-wailu mimmā taṣifūn(a).

Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs. And for you is destruction from that which you describe.

Ayah 19

Wa lahū man fis-samāwāti wal-arḍ(i), wa man ‘indahū lā yastakbirūna ‘an ‘ibādatihī wa lā yastaḥsirūn(a).

To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him [i.e., the angels] are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.

Ayah 20

Yusabbiḥūnal-laila wan-nahāra wa lā yafturūn(a).

They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.

Ayah 21

Amittakhażū ālihatam minal-arḍi hum yunsyirūn(a).

Or have they [i.e., men] taken for themselves gods from the earth who resurrect [the dead]?

Ayah 22

Lau kāna fīhimā ālihatun illallāhu lafasadatā, fa subḥānallāhi rabbil-‘arsyi ‘ammā yaṣifūn(a).

Had there been within them [i.e., the heavens and earth] gods besides Allāh, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allāh, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

Ayah 23

Lā yus'alu ‘ammā yaf‘alu wa hum yus'alūn(a).

He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.

Ayah 24

Amittakhażū min dūnihī ālihah(tan), qul hātū burhānakum, hāżā żikru mam ma‘iya wa żikru man qablī, bal akṡaruhum lā ya‘lamūnal-ḥaqqa fahum mu‘riḍūn(a).

Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muḥammad], "Produce your proof. This [Qur’ān] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.

Ayah 25

Wa mā arsalnā min qablika mir rasūlin illā nūḥī ilaihi annahū lā ilāha illā ana fa‘budūn(i).

And We sent not before you any messenger except We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."

Ayah 26

Wa qāluttakhażar-raḥmānu waladan subḥānah(ū), bal ‘ibādum mukramūn(a).

And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.

Ayah 27

Lā yasbiqūnahū bil-qauli wa hum bi'amrihī ya‘malūn(a).

They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command.

Ayah 28

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.

Ayah 29

Wa may yaqul minhum innī ilāhun min dūnihī fa żālika najzīhi jahannam(a), każālika najziẓ-ẓālimīn(a).

And whoever of them should say, "Indeed, I am a god besides Him" - that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

Ayah 30

Awalam yaral-lażīna kafarū annas-samāwāti wal-arḍa kānatā ratqan fa fataqnāhumā, wa ja‘alnā minal-mā'i kulla syai'in ḥayy(in), afalā yu'minūn(a).

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

Ayah 31

Wa ja‘alnā fil-arḍi rawāsiya an tamīda bihim, wa ja‘anā fīhā fijājan subulal la‘allahum yahtadūn(a).

And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.

Ayah 32

Wa ja‘alnas-samā'a saqfam maḥfūẓā(n), wa hum ‘an āyātihā mu‘riḍūn(a).

And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.

Ayah 33

Wa huwal-lażī khalaqal-laila wan-nahāra wasy-syamsa wal-qamar(a), kullun fī falakiy yasbaḥūn(a).

And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.

Ayah 34

Wa mā ja‘alnā libasyarim min qablikal-khuld(a), afa'im mitta fahumul-khālidūn(a).

And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal?

Ayah 35

Kullu nafsin żā'iqatul-maut(i), wa nablūkum bisy-syarri wal-khairi fitnah(tan), wa ilainā turja‘ūn(a).

Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.

Ayah 36

Wa iżā ra'ākal-lażīna kafarū iy yattakhiżūnaka illā huzuwā(n), ahāżal-lażī yażkuru ālihatakum, wa hum biżikrir-raḥmāni hum kāfirūn(a).

And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muḥammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one who mentions [i.e., insults] your gods?" And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers.

Ayah 37

Khuliqal-insānu min ‘ajal(in), sa'urīkum āyātī falā tasta‘jilūn(i).

Man was created of haste [i.e., impatience]. I will show you My signs [i.e., vengeance], so do not impatiently urge Me.

Ayah 38

Wa yaqūlūna matā hāżal-wa‘du in kuntum ṣādiqīn(a).

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

Ayah 39

Lau ya‘lamul-lażīna kafarū ḥīna lā yakuffūna ‘aw wujūhihimun nāra wa lā ‘an ẓuhūrihim wa lā hum yunṣarūn(a).

If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided...

Ayah 40

Bal ta'tīhim bagtatan fa tabhatuhum falā yastaṭī‘ūna raddahā wa lā hum yunẓarūn(a).

Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.

Ayah 41

Wa laqadistuhzi'a birusulim min qablika fa ḥāqa bil-lażīna sakhirū minhum mā kānū bihī yastahzi'ūn(a).

And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Ayah 42

Qul may yakla'ukum bil-laili wan-nahāri minar-raḥmān(i), bal hum ‘an żikrihim mu‘riḍūn(a).

Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.

Ayah 43

Am lahum ālihatun tamna‘uhum min dūninā, lā yastaṭī‘ūna naṣra anfusihim wa lā hum minnā yuṣḥabūn(a).

Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.

Ayah 44

Bal matta‘nā hā'ulā'i wa ābā'ahum ḥattā ṭāla ‘alaihimul-‘umur(u), afalā yarauna annā na'til-arḍa nanquṣuhā min aṭrāfihā, afahumul-gālibūn(a).

But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? Is it they who will overcome?

Ayah 45

Qul innamā unżirukum bil-waḥy(i), wa lā yasma‘uṣ-ṣummud-du‘ā'a iżā mā yunżarūn(a).

Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

Ayah 46

Wa la'im massathum nafḥatum min ‘ażābi rabbika layaqūlunna yā wailanā innā kunnā ẓālimīn(a).

And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers."

Ayah 47

Wa naḍa‘ul-mawāzīnal-qisṭa liyaumil-qiyāmati falā tuẓlamu nafsun syai'ā(n), wa in kāna miṡqāla ḥabbatim min khardalin atainā bihā, wa kafā binā ḥāsibīn(a).

And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.

Ayah 48

Wa laqad ātainā mūsā wa hārūnal-furqāna wa ḍiyā'aw wa żikral lil-muttaqīn(a).

And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous

Ayah 49

Allażīna yakhsyauna rabbahum bil-gaibi wa hum minas-sā‘ati musyfiqūn(a).

Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive.

Ayah 50

Wa hāżā żikrum mubārakun anzalnāh(u), afa antum lahū munkirūn(a).

And this [Qur’ān] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted?

Ayah 51

Wa laqad ātainā ibrāhīma rusydahū min qablu wa kunnā bihī ‘ālimīn(a).

And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing

Ayah 52

Iż qāla li'abīhi wa qaumihī mā hāżihit-tamāṡīlul-latī antum lahā ‘ākifūn(a).

When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"

Qāla bar rabbukum rabbus-samāwāti wal-arḍil-lażī faṭarahunn(a), wa ana ‘alā żālikum minasy-syāhidīn(a).

He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.

Ayah 57

They said, "Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham?"

Ayah 63

Ayah 64

Fa raja‘ū ilā anfusihim fa qālū innakum antumuẓ-ẓālimūn(a).

Uffil lakum wa limā ta‘budūna min dūnillāh(i), afalā ta‘qilūn(a).

Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allāh. Then will you not use reason?"

And they intended for him a plan [i.e., harm], but We made them the greatest losers.

Ayah 71

And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds [i.e., peoples].

Ayah 72

And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous.

Ayah 73

Wa ja‘alnāhum a'immatay yahdūna bi'amrinā wa auḥainā ilaihim fi‘lal-khairāti wa iqāmaṣ-ṣalāti wa ītā'az-zakāh(ti), wa kānū lanā ‘ābidīn(a).

Ayah 74

Wa lūṭan ātaināhu ḥumkaw wa ‘ilmaw wa najjaināhu minal-qaryatil-latī kānat ta‘malul-khabā'iṡ(a), innahum kānū qauma sau'in fāsiqīn(a).

Wa adkhalnāhu fī raḥmatinā, innahū minaṣ-ṣāliḥīn(a).

And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous.

Ayah 76

Wa nūḥan iż nādā min qablu fastajabnā lahū fa najjaināhu wa ahlahū minal-karbil-‘aẓīm(i).

And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allāh] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great affliction [i.e., the flood].

Ayah 77

Wa naṣarnāhu minal-qaumil-lażīna każżabū bi'āyātinā, innahum kānū qauma sau'in fa agraqnāhum ajma‘īn(a).

And We aided [i.e., saved] him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together.

Ayah 78

Wa dāwūda wa sulaimāna iż yaḥkumāni fil-ḥarṡi iż nafasyat fīhi ganamul-qaum(i), wa kunnā liḥukmihim syāhidīn(a).

And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement.

Ayah 79

Fa fahhamnāhā sulaimān(a), wa kullan ātainā ḥukmaw wa ‘ilmā(n), wa sakhkharnā ma‘a dāwūdal-jibāla yusabbiḥna waṭ-ṭair(a), wa kunnā fā‘ilīn(a).

And We gave understanding of it [i.e., the case] to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that].

Ayah 80

Wa ‘allamnāhu ṣan‘ata labūsil lakum lituḥṣinakum mim ba'sikum, fahal antum syākirūn(a).

And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful?

Ayah 81

Wa lisulaimānar-rīḥa ‘āṣifatan tajrī bi'amrihī ilal-arḍil-latī bāraknā fīhā, wa kunnā bikulli syai'in ‘ālimīn(a).

And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.

Ayah 82

Wa minasy-syayāṭīna may yagūṣūna lahū wa ya‘malūna ‘amalan dūna żālik(a), wa kunnā lahum ḥāfiẓīn(a).

And of the devils [i.e., jinn] were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.

Ayah 83

Wa ayyūba iż nādā rabbahū annī massaniyaḍ-ḍurru wa anta arḥamur-rāḥimīn(a).

And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."

Ayah 84

Fastajabnā lahū fa kasyafnā mā bihī min ḍurriw wa ātaināhu ahlahū wa miṡlahum ma‘ahum raḥmatam min ‘indinā wa żikrā lil-‘ābidīn(a).

So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allāh].

Ayah 85

Wa ismā‘īla wa idrīsa wa żal-kifl(i), kullum minaṣ-ṣābirīn(a).

And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient.

Ayah 86

Wa adkhalnāhum fī raḥmatinā, innahum minaṣ-ṣāliḥīn(a).

And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.

Ayah 87

Wa żan-nūni iż żahaba mugāḍiban fa ẓanna allan naqdira ‘alaihi fa nādā fiẓ-ẓulumāti allā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn(a).

And [mention] the man of the fish [i.e., Jonah], when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

Ayah 88

Fastajabnā lahū wa najjaināhu minal-gamm(i), wa każālika nunjil-mu'minīn(a).

So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.

Ayah 89

Wa zakariyyā iż nādā rabbahū rabbi lā tażarnī fardaw wa anta khairul-wāriṡīn(a).

And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while You are the best of inheritors."

Ayah 90

Fastajabnā lah(ū), wa wahabnā lahū yaḥyā wa aṣlaḥnā lahū zaujah(ū), innahum kānū yusāri‘ūna fil-khairāti wa yad‘ūnanā ragabaw wa rahabā(n), wa kānū lanā khāsyi‘īn(a).

So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.

Ayah 91

Wal-latī aḥṣanat farjahā fa nafakhnā fīhā mir rūḥinā wa ja‘alnāhā wabnahā āyatal lil-‘ālamīn(a).

And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity [i.e., Mary], so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [i.e., Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

Ayah 92

Inna hāżihī ummatukum ummataw wāḥidah(tan), wa ana rabbukum fa‘budūn(i).

Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

Ayah 93

Wa taqaṭṭa‘ū amrahum bainahum, kullun ilainā rāji‘ūn(a).

And [yet] they divided their affair [i.e., that of their religion] among themselves, [but] all to Us will return.

Ayah 94

So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We [i.e., Our angels], of it, are recorders.

Ayah 95

Wa ḥarāmun ‘alā qaryatin ahlaknāhā, innahum lā yarji‘ūn(a).

And it is prohibited to [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return

Ayah 96

Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend

Ayah 97

Waqtarabal-wa‘dul-ḥaqqu fa iżā hiya syākhiṣatun abṣārul-lażīna kafarū, yā wailanā qad kunnā fī gaflatim min hāżā bal kunnā ẓālimīn(a).

And [when] the true promise [i.e., the resurrection] has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."

Ayah 98

Innakum wa mā ta‘budūna min dūnillāhi ḥaṣabu jahannam(a), antum lahā wāridūn(a).

Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allāh are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it.

Ayah 99

Lau kāna hā'ulā'i ālihatam mā waradūhā, wa kullun fīhā khālidūn(a).

Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.

Ayah 100

Lahum fīhā zafīruw wa hum fīhā lā yasma‘ūn(a).

For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear.

Ayah 101

Innal-lażīna sabaqat lahum minnal-ḥusnā, ulā'ika ‘anhā mub‘adūn(a).

Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us - they are from it far removed.

Ayah 102

Lā yasma‘ūna ḥasīsahā, wa hum fīmasytahat anfusuhum khālidūn(a).

They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally.

Ayah 103

Lā yaḥzunuhumul-faza‘ul-akbaru wa tatalaqqāhumul-malā'ikah(tu), hāżā yaumukumul-lażī kuntum tū‘adūn(a).

They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], "This is your Day which you have been promised" -

Ayah 104

Yauma naṭwis-samā'a kaṭayyis-sijilli lil-kutib(i), kamā bada'nā awwala khalqin nu‘īduh(ū), wa‘dan ‘alainā, innā kunnā fā‘ilīn(a).

The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.

Ayah 105

Wa laqad katabnā fiz-zabūri mim ba‘diż-żikri annal-arḍa yariṡuhā ‘ibādiyaṣ-ṣāliḥūn(a).

And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.

Ayah 106

Inna fī hāżā labalāgal liqaumin ‘ābidīn(a).

Indeed, in this [Qur’ān] is notification for a worshipping people.

Ayah 107

Wa mā arsalnāka illā raḥmatal lil-‘ālamīn(a).

And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.

Ayah 108

Qul innamā yūḥā ilayya annamā ilāhukum ilāhuw wāḥid(un), fahal antum muslimūn(a).

Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?"

Ayah 109

Fa in tawallau fa qul āżantukum ‘alā sawā'(in), wa in adrī aqarībun am ba‘īdum mā tū‘adūn(a).

But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised.

Ayah 110

Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal.

Ayah 111

Wa in adrī la‘allahū fitnatul lakum wa matā‘un ilā ḥīn(in).

And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time."

Ayah 112

Qāla rabbiḥkum bil-ḥaqq(i), wa rabbunar-raḥmānul-musta‘ānu ‘alā mā taṣifūn(a).

[The Prophet (ﷺ)] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe."
