Surah Al-Fil — The Elephant

اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِاَصْحٰبِ الْفِيْلِۗ

Alam tara kaifa fa‘ala rabbuka bi'aṣḥābil-fīl(i).

Have you not considered, [O Muḥammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?

اَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِيْ تَضْلِيْلٍۙ

Alam yaj‘al kaidahum fī taḍlīl(in).

Did He not make their plan into misguidance?

وَّاَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا اَبَابِيْلَۙ

Wa arsala ‘alaihim ṭairan abābīl(a).

And He sent against them birds in flocks,

تَرْمِيْهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّنْ سِجِّيْلٍۙ

Tarmīhim biḥijāratim min sijjīl(in).

Striking them with stones of hard clay,

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُوْلٍ ࣖ

Fa ja‘alahum ka‘aṣfim ma'kūl(in).

And He made them like eaten straw.
